 Draper and Kramer, Incorporated, with over 100 years of innovation in real estate, is committed to the public interest as a service provider and as a corporation. In particular, the company and its principals have a long history of advocating access to affordable housing. This legacy goes back to the development of Lake Meadows, Prairie Shores, Dearborn Park, and more recently, Lake Park Crescent.
Draper and Kramer was also instrumental in the founding of the Metropolitan Planning Council, which among other things, promotes planned growth of the city of Chicago; my father, Ferd Kramer and his sister, Laura Pollak Fisher were founding members. In addition, I have served as Chairman of the Chicago Crime Commission, Chairman and Director of Slough Estates USA, Governing Member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and former Director of the Institute on Hearing and Speech, Chicago.
The officers of Draper and Kramer are involved in various civic organizations that help shape Chicago, such as, Chicago Association of Realtors, Institute of Real Estate Management, Chicago Humanities Festivals, Field Museum of Natural History, International Council of Shopping Centers, Illinois Mortgage Bankers Association, Loyola, March of Dimes, Metropolitan Planning Council, Mortgage Bankers Association of America, National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, National Association of Realtors, Near South Planning Board, United Way Crusade of Mercy, University of Chicago, University of Illinois, and Women in Real Estate, to name a few. We are also a proud partner in the Chicago Public Schools Teacher Housing program.
We continue to be committed to ensuring that Chicago remains a leader in creating sensible solutions to growth, including the creation of affordable, accessible and safe housing. Besides the personal involvement of our officers and directors in various groups, through the Draper and Kramer Foundation, we lend financial support to a variety of other organizations which share our views regarding the future development of the Chicago metropolitan area.
