Mr. Truesdale entered the real estate field in 1976 and has worked at Draper and Kramer since 1982.
As the manager of DKRA, Mr. Truesdale is responsible for sourcing, structuring
and underwriting all types of commercial and multi-family real estate
developments – including debt and equity – then presenting
information to investment committees. In addition, he helped develop the prior pension fund advisory relationship
with the AFL-CIO Building Investment Trust and also manages other
key clients. Mr. Truesdale is a member of Draper and Kramer’s
Information Services and Management committees.
From 1982-1988, he initiated commercial loan production for Draper and Kramer’s correspondent lenders. During this time, Mr. Truesdale personally originated nearly $100 million in debt placements and was part of a team that arranged an additional $500 million. For the four years before he joined the company, he was Director of Corporate Development for All Chicago Real Estate, a real estate brokerage and investment firm.
Mr. Truesdale received his bachelor’s degree in business administration with honors from Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa. He completed the real estate curriculum at DePaul University, Chicago, Illinois, and the educational curriculum of the Appraisal Institute and Society of Real Estate Appraisers.
In addition, Mr. Truesdale belongs to a number of professional associations, including the Appraisal Institute (where he was a Regional Head of the Ethics Division); Lambda Alpha, a land economics society; the Real Estate Educators of America Association (of which he is a Charter Member); the Illinois Mortgage Bankers Association; the Chicago Board of Realtors; NCREIF (National Council of Real Estate Fiduciaries); PREA (Pension Real Estate Association); and the Counselors of Real Estate. Also, Mr. Truesdale serves as an adjunct instructor of Real Estate at the University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC).
